so we’re back. and now I’m off again. phew. sf was truly, amazingly, fantastically, great. you can see some evidence in the album of sf photos that I rushed off today. first I unpacked. then I had to pack again – off to oxford to casa de kitschbitch, to try and attempy to funkify up the room, and start on a pile of work and jobs that need to be done.

on the up side: environmental health/housing authorities came into the house and upon seeing that the place was falling apart have issued an order forcing the agency to make all the ctuff that’s crap/broken/lethal un-crap/fixed/safe. so although george the dodgy landlord guy can keep saying ‘tomorrow, tomorrow’ for a little while, if work on the bathroom (new shower, lino, fixed windows), kitchen (new units, maybe even new cooker), floor (new carpet, huzzah!), electricals (making lights in the hall & smoke alarm work), walls (paint) and so forth doesn’t begin in a few days, and isn’t completed within a month of starting, they come in and kick his butt – woo ha!

I is a very sleepy kitschbitch, with many cool things to say, but right now, I must to bed. night night chaps and chappesses, see you next from the dreaming spires of oxford…

sorry for lack of bloggage – though the boy has been writing a plenty keeping the world updated as to our goings on, I’m afraid I haven’t been quite so diligent. what can I say but that despite an atmosphere tinged with immense sadness, our stay in san francisco has been truly wonderful. the chance to stay in napa, in a house with a beautiful vineyard at the back, and breathtaking views of the valley at the front, was truly awesome (and the wine tasting wasn’t too bad either.) sf is really a fabulous place: having explored both the kitsch and the touristy, I can certainly say that it’s a city with whom I’m totally in love and sorry to be leaving.

as my better half has pointed out, there really aren’t any words. you’ll have already see all the links and ways to help, I urge you all to do whatever you can. though they won’t take my blood (foreign), they’ll take yours – and it’s needed. my prayers and thoughts are with you all. off out of the city and away from the net for a couple of days – hope to have happier news to report on my return.

oy vey, a ten hour flight and an eight hour time difference can really screw with you. on the up side, san francisco is, so far, quite amazing. things both quite unexpected and surprising. and at the same time, just how you thought they might be. yes, this is totally unenlightening and very dull writing, but I have to wrap it up as the keyboard in this cybercafe is reallt knackered, and we’ve got lots of this city to go and see….

ta ta for now!
